There's something to be said about having a two-drink limit, but none of it is good. I'm a cheap date, anyway.

Four hours of sleep and a hangover later, here I am. Head pounding, stomach (settling down now after my egg and cheese sandwich) rolling - after two pints of Guinness. >.O

Somewhere, Ben Sanderson is laughing at me.

My psyche woke me up this morning, wanting to talk:

My Subconscious: I miss grandpa.
Me: Grandpa died when we were 2 and a half.
MS: But our memories of him are really good, though, huh?
Me: Shut up, I'm too hung over to be having this discussion right now.

(Yeah, you had to be there.)

There is no update on the work front, since no report has been written, and probably won't be for at least a week (at this rate, it could be 3 weeks before I know anything concrete). *scream face* Psychological torture - just another aspect of staff development at the library! However, my HR contact at the other library came in last night, and there are positive forces at work on the job front. Wish me luck!

I'm getting my hair did today, it's going to warm back up (hello, bicycle!), and I have the day off. Life? Not so bad. :-)
quidditchgrrl: (Swing away your troubles)
Sorry about that little explosion in my last post, y'all. I've been trying for another job for the last two years, with no success, and well. It's discouraging, to say the least.

I'm in a better mood now. Even through working short 3 people (gross understaffing FTL) and the never-ending parade of problem patrons, I was able to remember why I love my job: I can appreciate and even enjoy the Crazy (not the Psycho bitch, but the general public).

That, and our new Assistant said I look, act and sound like Julia Stiles. *raises eyebrow* Okay, I'll take it. (Brownnoser! :D)

Tomorrow, I'm going to take a picture in my PJs and submit it to Youngme / Nowme. [livejournal.com profile] amanderpander, you need to find your clothes and do this! And the rest of you, too!

I never seem to get excited over big blockbuster movies (I mean, I'm stoked to see the new Harold and Kumar movie. There Will Be Blood? Snore.), but OMG SO EXCITED.

Aw, [livejournal.com profile] azurerose... :-( *hugs*

Also, tomorrow, I'm going out for a nice long bike ride...*bliss*...then lifting, then swimming. Blessed nothingness. TGIF!

Ahoy, friends in Lj-land!  I'm sorry to say that life has eaten what was left of mah brain and most of my body as well.  Staying up past 11pm or so is a feat, and on the weekends - forget it!  Literally, half of my labor day weekend was spent sleeping - I don't think I've spent that much time asleep (without the aid of narcotics) for years.

I'll cut all this crap, so you can read whatever is of interest to you.

quidditchgrrl: (Hey. Fuck you.)
I was thinking about this blog entry today while I was out riding (even before the wipeout), and boy, do I need to make it, if only to blow off steam.

People need to remember and follow a few simple rules when they're out enjoying the urban outdoors:

Headwinds

Jul. 1st, 2007 11:44 pm
quidditchgrrl: (Stephen can drive me anywhere)

I'm dragging...I rode the Path today and the headwinds on the return trip were just evil.  My chain kept falling off because I changed gears so often.  There was just no way to gather energy, so I didn't get the second wind that usually kicks in around mile 20.  Ow.  My butt... :-(

There was a doe and fawn in the middle of the path right at Bethel Road.  I live in the city because eek!  Nature is best when it's behind a fence/glass/in the wild.  I would have screamed but I was too damn tired.  I just wanted them out of my way at that point.

Dinner was excellent - fresh blueberry pancakes!  :-9  I will be having a very yummy breakfast for the next couple of days with the leftovers, too.  Yay.

For the ladies:  I have an on/off fetish lust thing for Shia LaBoeuf, but damned if he doesn't look nummy here:

This angle/lighting makes him look older here, methinks.  You can see the huge scans from Nylon Guys magazine here.

Still not seeing Transformers, though.  Do not want.

What I do want:

--My brain to quiet down enough to match my physical fatigue so I can sleeeep

--My blood sugar level to be miraculously normal tomorrow morning (not likely considering the blueberry pancakes)

Hope you all are planning to have fun this 4th of July!
