Q: How did you get into Harry Potter?
I went to see SS when it came out here in the States with my niece and nephew; thought the movie was okay, but had a feeling it must have left out some things from the book. Was convinced to listen to the books on tape by one of the children's librarians where I used to work, and that was that. Found fanfiction in December 2001, and have been in the fandom ever since!

Q: Read the books?
I sure did, listened to them on tape first. I'm not sure that I would have gone so far off the deep end if I'd picked them up in print initially.

Q: Where will you be on June 21st (release of the Fifth book)?
Snug in my bed awaiting owl post from Amazon UK, who shall be delivering my copy of OoP.

Q: Who are your favorite characters?
Hmmm, I don't really have a favorite favorite. Maybe Remus Lupin. Definitely Draco Malfoy. Tom Riddle (but that may just be my reaction to Christian Coulson's rendition of him *rowr*). I like Gred and Forge. I have a definite sweet spot for Harry too.

Q: Who are your favorite relatively minor characters? (minor meaning they were never the main focus in any one of the books so far)
Percy! And Cedric.

Q: Favorite Professor? (If your favorite character is a professor, please pick another professor)
Remus Lupin. He was so kind.

Q: Have any HP merchandise?
Not too much, surprisingly. A Gryffindor notebook, I think.

Q: Do you relate to any characters?
I think I would have related to Ginny growing up, as well as Hermione (I was a little swot, but I wasn't a loudmouth about it).

Q: Do you look like any characters?
Mainly Ginny - I have red hair and some freckles, and brown eyes.

Q: Do you act like any characters?
Depends. I'm more of an observer, like Ginny or Harry.

Q: What is your favorite house?
I don't have one.

Q: Is there a house you absolutely hate?
Nope.

Q: Honestly, not just because of what house is your favorite, what house would you be in?
I've never been sorted into any other house but Ravenclaw (even when I've tried for something else), so I gotta go with that.

Q: If you were a student, placed in the house you'd honestly be in, what sort of house member would you prefer to date?
I'd prefer to date a Percy-type character. Something about nerds (especially ones with red hair) just does it for me. Or any other character that wears glasses. Or Ron!

Q: Okay, suddenly you are a student in Harry's year. Pick someone you'd die to date.
Harry, he's so cute and angsty!

Q: Okay, now you are back in time, a student with James Potter. Pick someone you'd die to date.
Ooh, Snape!

Q: Now, you have answered whom you can date, now let's talk about just flings. Which Harry Potter character(s) would you like to have nice long shag with, repeatedly?
Harry (hey, shags are dates in my mind), Snape and Sirius *naughty thoughts* :-)

Q: One at a time, or all together?
See, read my mind! Both!

Q: Who would be your secret HP crush?
I think it's Harry.

Q: Is there a character that annoys you to no end, and should you meet them in real life, you'd want to kill them?
Nah.

Q: Do you ever compare people to material in the Harry Potter books?
Yep. I have my Gryffindor fiance and a Hufflepuff sister. Honeybunch is a Ron clone if I ever met one!

Q: Do you ever privately sort people into houses when you meet them?
Not upon first meeting.

Q: Who is your favorite founder?
Sirius! *drools*

Q: Do you really believe the statement "Not a witch or wizard in Slytherin doesn't go bad"?
Nah - sounds like a stereotype to me.

Q: Do you really blame the founder of the house for all of the out-of-date prejudices that Slytherins seem to have?
Nope, gotta blame the parents there.

Q: Do you think that Draco Malfoy will actually redeem himself as many fandom folk try to portray him as doing?
Like [livejournal.com profile] sunshyndaisies said, 'as in redeem himself as in join forces with Harry' a la the Draco Trilogy? I hope not. I like Malfoy as a normal bully who picks on Harry out of jealousy and resentment. We all know a kid like that.

Q: Do you think that Professor Snape can actually go back to spying?
Not sure. Ask again later (like, after Book 5 has been published).

Q: Is there any character you would give your wand arm for, just to see them die?
No, everyone has a role to play in the books, it's up to JKR to kill 'em off!

Q: Is there any character that in the event of their death you would have no qualms about holding Rowling hostage until the author writes the next book and finds some way to bring them back?
*grins like Kathy Bates* Actually, no. I'm alright with character death.

Q: Do you read fan fiction?
Uh, yeah.

Q: Where do you usually haunt for fan fiction?
Mainly at Restricted Section, Checkmated, Witchfics, and in the various Yahoo!groups I belong to.

Q: What is your favorite fandom pairing?
I don't really have one. There are a few I don't read, but as long as it's well-written and believable, I can handle it.

Q: Who was the first pairing you ever read?
I think Ron/Hermione. Read Paradigm of Uncertainty early on in my journey.

Q: Has the slash bug caught you?
I can deal with slash. I'm more of a non-con or incest slash shipper, however.

Q: What sort of pairings are you most willing to read?
I can be persuaded to read just about anything.

Q: Is there any pairing that when you see it, you want to beat someone over the head with a blunt object? If so, who?
Grrr...Sirius/Remus! It's just not me. Harry/Draco is annoying at times. It's all about how you bring the characters together - if I can't believe it, then I can't read it.

Q: Which rare pairing are you currently on a kick about? In other words, reading every fan fiction of them you can get your hands on?
Rare pairing? I'm always on the lookout for good Percy/Bill/Charlie stories, no matter what the 'ship.

Q: How are you about original characters serving as the main character in a story, particularly in a romance with a canon character?
It really depends on how much the character is developed and what the plot of the story is. I cannot stand to read about American exchange students! That's a big flashing neon sign that says "Mary Sues Ahead"!

Q: What do you think of when people use alias like DracoMalfoysGurl?
A fifteen year old girl writing very badly about things she knows nothing of.

Q: Do you think that there is any elitism among authors in fandom groups? If so, who?
Oh yeah. Some folks think they're gods in the fandom. I haven't agreed with one yet! I won't name names, but I think everyone knows who they are.

Q: Who is your favorite author?
Whoa. There are waaaay too many to name. Top ten (in no particular order): [livejournal.com profile] fearthainn, [livejournal.com profile] liss1224, RavenclawGrrl, [livejournal.com profile] shellyk, [livejournal.com profile] sunshyndaisies, Cressida, [livejournal.com profile] coldcoffeeeyes, [livejournal.com profile] msscribe, RedBlaze, and DarkKnight. I'd read absolutely anything these folks write.

Q: What makes you love a fan fiction?
Good characterization. Period.

Q: What makes you hate a fan fiction?
Bad characterization, poorly written smut scenes, fluffy teen pregnancies, fluffy rape fics (where the girl falls in love with her attacker a la General Hospital, puhleeze).

Q: How often a day to check fan fiction?
Oh, at least a couple of hours a day!
