I finally arrive at work today, ready to put my nose to the grindstone...catching up on LJ, email, what have you. There seems to have been a mass exodus over the past few days. I'm a little bummed out about that, but you know, it's just fandom. I think I'm a little down about the fact that I don't have an instant window into their world, and that if I want information, I have to know exactly which questions to ask instead of learning about someone in small bites.
It didn't ice my cupcake though, quite like the fact that ALL OF MY COLORED PENS ARE GONE! >:O
(Those of you who know me well enough understand that I am very picky when it comes to taking Things That Are Not Yours. Pens, pencils, and notepads are especially high on my list of Things Not To Be Touched. The fact that they had to root around in my desk drawer - albeit because I forgot to lock my little drawer - to get to said supplies really irks me. But hey, my little neuroses could dominate this LJ.)
I'm still catching up with my group emails/reviews/Triumvirate reading, but the fact that I got through the skip=220 in three hours of work, reading and commenting, is something.
Led into the weekend by frantically trying to complete a total (between my boss and I) of 10 cost estimates for one of our clients. I really wanted to go home, but instead went to wish one of the animal techs good luck in vet school after I was finished with work. I really want the plush monkey with the -ahem- appendage she got from her fellow technicians. Would come in handy...
Saturday dawned (or didn't, as it was raining) and as mentioned before, I headed over to meet
mareisse, who is still one of the nicest fandom people I've met. This even when she wouldn't give up the goods on the plot of
triumvirate! We went to The Waterfront for lunch, shopping, and a movie (Uptown Girls, which was pretty good). Came home to still no phone line *sob* but the Buckeyes were playing Washington, so I had something to do. Great game, rehashed for hours over Sunday brunch with my dad, sister, and brother-in-law.
Get ready,
zsazsa101 - I'll no doubt be heading back to Pittsburgh real soon, as my sister has decided that she must shop at ULTA, and the nearest one is in the 'Burgh. Drop off the boys at Three Rivers, then head out to shop our tails off!
Great big *hugs* to those of you taking a break (even though you're not reading). I'll be around more often once I get internet access back at home.
Yesterday Honeybunch and I ventured out to buy cell phones. I have now officially crossed over to the dark side. I'll put up the number in a protected post, in case anyone wants to get in touch with me. We're ditching our land line on the 7th when we *finally* get DSL!! *does happy DSL dance of joy*
