Sunday I had to get down to the Swan so's I could get my bag from [livejournal.com profile] littletort and [livejournal.com profile] slytherincess's room. I checked out early and went for breakfast and met extremely tired Pumpkin Pie-ers [livejournal.com profile] smilie117 and [livejournal.com profile] ladycadey. Along came equally exhausted [livejournal.com profile] eibbil_libbie, [livejournal.com profile] reneec and [livejournal.com profile] zorb, and we headed in for an English breakfast buffet. The buffet was definitely the best food of the weekend - scrambled eggs, bangers and mash, stewed tomatoes, sausage - the works. I ate until I couldn't eat anymore; seemed like everyone else was eating to stay awake! :-P

[livejournal.com profile] anyaplana, [livejournal.com profile] chickadilly and [livejournal.com profile] redblaze came in later for the auction. Does anyone know how much the auction made? And as the last raffle winner I got a copy of OotP signed by Mary GrandPre. I was excited, even if I didn't scream like a t00b. And no, I'm not going to sell it on Ebay. It's resting, covered in non-acidic paper, in my keepsake trunk.

I'm hoping to have pictures up at some point here.

Thanks to everyone I met - I'm not going to do shoutouts or anything, just 'cause I feel really wibbly at this point and I just thought you all were wonderful! *sniffs*

So, I had another day to spend in Florida, and headed off to Daytona to visit with my aunt and uncle. They invested their money, made wise decisions with the stock market, didn't lose their entire savings in a pyramid scheme (thanks Dad), and have a lovely house in Port Orange. I had dinner there and headed over to meet my friend Kim. Unfortunately for me, 'I'll be over late Sunday afternoon' means 'if I don't show up before 2pm, forget I'm alive'. Granted, I knew this about Kim, I had just forgot. I call her cell and yep, she's headed up I-4 to stay with her boyfriend for the night.

Fuck. I panicked and drove around freaking out, wondering where I was going to stay for the night. Called Honeybunch, who ever-so-gently reminded me that my wonderful relatives hadn't deserted their house in the hour I'd been away, and to go back there and tell them what was up. This is bad; I'm usually not a twit like that. So I quit flapping my arms and headed back over to my aunt and uncle's. Did I mention that they are just the sweetest people? Their house is set up like a B&B, since family and friends are over all the time. My cousin and his family were there, and they let me stay on the couch since all the beds were full. Bathroom is full of individually wrapped toothbrushes, all the toiletries you'd ever need, and my aunt insisted on making me breakfast. *hugs aunt and uncle*

I'm thinking I need to go and live with them. :D Beach 15 minutes away, quiet neighborhood...

I did end up meeting Kim the next day for lunch and a walk on the beach. I love how easy it is for me to slip back into friendship with some of my friends; even though we hadn't seen each other in more than two years, we talked as though we talk everyday. We only had a couple of hours before I had to head back to Orlando to catch my flight home. :( If I'd been smarter, I would have booked my plane home out of Daytona and saved the hour and a half drive back.

Flew home (I still am not totally sold on flying as a valid option) with a bunch of redneck touristy types. Buried my face in the Daily Mail and Star and hoped they'd shut the hell up (no such luck). Am still wibbly about Nimbus and avidly reading everyone else's postings. Hope you all had as good a time as I did! :D

Hey babe. . . I got pics, did you see them? I'll send them to you when I get home. I'm on dial up here at this second hotel and they'd never send.

(((Hugs)))

It was so nice getting to eat breakfast with you. We were a subdued and exhausted crew though. And I was so thrilled for you when you won the copy of OotP.

*hugs*
