I've never had a teeth-falling-out dream.

I totally did, once. I dreamed that all my teeth were in my hand, kind of like a set of fake teeth that wind up and hop around on the table, chattering... they were in my hand chattering away! It was totally bizarre. They went from my gums to my hand, in a migratory kind of a way.

According to some of the commenters, it means you feel powerless or out of control. Guess I only have to worry about this in real life! :)

I have them all the time. They're usually the most realistc dreams I have. Even if the circumstances are bizarre, it feels real, and I have to run my tongue over my teeth when I wake up to make sure they're all still there.

Someone told me it means you're grinding your teeth in your sleep if you have those dreams. Possible. Though it may also be triggered in me because I do have (and always have had) one slightly loose tooth, and used to fear it falling out sometimes.

I have a bridge, and constantly have nightmares about it falling out. Sometimes, other teeth have fallen out with it. My dentist told me teeth falling out dreams were normal when I told him about them.

I've only had one, and it was the most realistic dream I've ever had. I dreamt that my teeth had rotted so I started pulling them myself. I could FEEL myself pulling them but it didn't hurt.

Ugh. Totally freaked me out too.

So this means you just had one? Or you're wondering why you never had? *scratches head*

No, I just saw two references to this yesterday, and I was all 'bzuh? Never heard of that!'

I guess I'm just lucky never to have had one.

oh ew, i have, and aside from them horrifying the hell out of me, when i found out what they symbolize (powerlessness, lack of control) i started to hate them even more (if possible). i have such issues with the dentist/my teeth anyway, lord, i hate those dreams....... all of which is to say, lucky you! :D

Very interesting, I'd never read anything about how common it is, though.

I don't think anyone could enjoy a dream like that! :\

I have them at least twice a year. The meaning of the dream is connected to the actual feelings felt during the dream, specifically loss of control and power over the situation of the dream...and this feeling of no control reflects something in real life in which you feel that same loss of control or power.

Also can be identified with feelings of unattractiveness and aging.

Interesting, I rarely feel out of control, ever, so possibly this is why I've not had a dream like this before.

I'd seen two references to this kind of dream and had never even considered the idea!

That my friend is not only an excellent thing, but an excellent first line to a short story or poem.
