Is there a generator that will match people not on your flist that share similar interests with you? 'Cause that would be cool.

I don't think there is, although that would be a very useful tool. I wish there was some way to look up people by more than one interest at a time. The best I can do is pick out one of my (somewhat) more obscure interests and then browse through the info pages of the people that come up.

Way back in the early days there was something like this. It would do a search of your interests and then match up other users and give the match rate percent. I loved using it to see how many people shared the same interests .

There was also this really cool feature that I think they called "the web" but it always reminded me of a writing cluster, except it had journal users names in it. It was how everyone was linked together, and you could see other users you might not have on your list, but everyone else did. It was one of my favorite features on here.

Sadly, they both disappeared as LJ started getting bigger. (Good grief, have I really been around here that long? I really need to get a life!)
