So, things have been a'happenin' around here. Some good, some not-so-good, some -

On the car front - we had two cars for two days last week. I get my car back and Andy's transmission blows up. $3200 to repair. Ouch. It's got 171K miles on it, he still owes like a zillion dollars on it, and we have exactly $0 to pay for something else. Happy happy, joy joy. *headdesk*

My cousins own a big used car place in Grove City, thank goodness, so I'll be calling them for advice here soon. Also good - Andy's and my jobs are not far apart, so the logistics of having one car are manageable. Barely.

The bright spot is that we are getting a new PC. Our oldie - top of the line in 2001 - popped up its first memory space warning the other night. There is no more room and I had to delete some "This Week In God" clips and miscellaneous other things. :(

Anyone have recommendations for PCs (Honeybunch won't even consider a MAC)? I want at least 2GB of RAM and the ability to have up to 1TB of hard drive space *orgasms*

PC #1
PC #2

Not-so-bright spot: my 18-year-old cousin is pregnant. *sigh* Not surprised. What else is there to do out in the sticks? I'll never understand the logic of having a kid that young - seems like most of the folks on my mom's side do this. At least her twin sister got out of there and is holding firm in getting an education and a life before she has kids (right now, we're the only two childless adults on that side of the family).

Random: WTF is with Keith Olbermann? He looks like he's been roasting in a Ronco rotisserie! LOL

Ouch about the cars :( It seems that when you don't have money, everything seems to go wrong, doesn't it? But yay for a new PC! I have a Dell which I love and haven't had a problem with at all :-)

Have you looked at emachines? They are IBM clones, and work great. I have two, one for me and one for the kids and the only time I ever had problems with it was when the ex decided that a porn spree was a good idea and got several viruses.

Their tech support is great, and when my monitor blew for no reason at all, they not only sent me a new one, but an upgraded one at that. :)

Sorry about the cars :(

God. Cars. Sometimes you love 'em and other times you just want to curse them, don't you? That utterly sucks.

But your icon's smokin'.

Whatever you end up getting, consider getting a CD or DVD burner so that if you ever eventually DO manage to run out of space (but OMG how could you use up that much space without a lot of time and effort?) you can just burn everything you want to keep onto shiny plastic and then delete it off the hard drive. Also try to avoid Compaqs, the one we have earned the name Ghettocomp.
