The only thing that kept me from being a junkie was the knowledge that they would have eventually released me from jail, and my mother would have been waiting for me.

You MUST be kidding me. Are there any experienced drug users that write those awful anti-drug commercials? My husband and I (both former alcoholics and ex-consumers of illegal drugs) regularly have a good chuckle over them. They are the lamest of lame.

They work on the kids that wouldn't become addicts in the first place. It just gives them more of a sense of self-righteousness. It just gives them permission to bully.

The same thing is going on in the adult world.
