I got my new voter registration card the other day, and they've put "unaffiliated" under "party affiliation". 

I used to be listed as simply "independent".

This must be why I've been getting scads of mail from the Republican party lately.  I think they missed the 'Unaffiliated = rational, thinking person'' memo.

Interesting.

Now hang on there! As someone who is a part of the election boards, this is probably part of the 'clean-up' from the 2000 elections. There is actually an Independent Party to be affiliated with, so you can no longer be listed as an Independent.

The reason you are getting so much mail from the Pube (obsessed) Party is because they are agressive as hell. They don't stop until you scream "Uncle FORGOD'SSAKEUNCLE!"

(I really wanted to register as Independent. But in my state that's as good as throwing your voter card in a public urinal; they aren't allowed to vote in many of the elections. :P)

You know us who lean toward the conservative side are rational thinking persons as well.... and sexy pirates... they should have that as a party affiliation. "I'd like to be registered as Pyrate Sea Witch please. I can't seem to find the box to check..."

Really, you should be able to pick your third party of choice and have it listed!
