I think most of you are aware of this:

I don't know how many of you out there know this, but Supreme Assembly is compiling a cookbook to raise money to replace the central air at the Supreme Temple.

Let's Get Cooking

Our organization is preparing a taste-tempting cookbook featuring favorite recipes from members of our organization, families, sponsors and friends. We need favorite recipes from Rainbow Girls and their families, members of our sponsoring bodies and friends and other supporters. The best news of all? All of the profits from the sale of the cookbooks will benefit Supreme Assembly. Our Temple in McAlester needs a complete new Heating/AC system, a very expensive project. The profits will help pay for this project. These cookbooks will most definitely become a cherished keepsake on any kitchen shelf! Your help in contributing recipes will ensure that our cookbook will be a success.

We would like to have your recipes by November 30, 2004 (NOTE:  This has been extended, but submit your recipe ASAP!). Your name and jurisdiction will be printed with each of your recipes that are included in the book. You can submit your recipe by mail using the form on the opposite side of this letter. Recipes can also be submitted by e-mail, making sure to include all information requested on the form to rainbowf/20@verizon.net.  When sending by e-mail, please send in Microsoft Word or PDF format. Recipes can also be submitted online at www.typensave.com. The Group Login is rainbow and the password is d4924. Please include your jurisdiction as an additional contributor.

Each cookbook will contain helpful cooking hints, recipe category dividers, a table of contents, and an index. The cookbook will be typeset in an easy-to-read format and professionally printed and bound. The recipes will be divided into the following categories: Appetizers & Beverages, Breads & Rolls, Soups & Salads, Desserts, Vegetables & Side Dishes, Cookies & Candy, Main Dishes, and This and That.

We are anticipating a great demand for these cookbooks, so we want to be certain we are ordering enough. It would help us immensely if you would order your cookbooks by December 15, 2004 at the preprinting price of $15.00. After this date the cost will be $20.00. When ordering your cookbooks, please include the number of copies, correct shipping information (address, city/state/zip etc.) and a check or money order for the cost of the cookbooks. The orders can be sent to Rainbow Cookbook, 803 65th Ave. Dr. W., Bradenton, FL 34207 and the check should be made out to Rainbow Cookbook.

I hope that each person in the community will take a couple of minutes to at least enter a recipe into the database.

Thanks!  :)

I'm utterly useless at cooking, but I just wanted to say I'm giggling at your new "name." :D *pats you on the back*

I couldn't resist poking fun at the wanker(s) who are posting anonymously and still remaining on the flists of the people they supposedly hate. 8-)

Yes, ma'am!

I entered five -- go, me!

If their HVAC replacement quote is anything like it is where I work, they'd better hope some millionaire freakin' DIES and leaves it all to them... I think we were quoted $300K, and that was 10 years ago. O_O;

I went back and put in several myself. They only had like, 136 and they have room for 2,000. And Kris pointed out that only 3 Supremes had put anything on there.

They ought to be working hard for this, don't you think? But that's a whole other rant.

The number had been mentioned, but no one could remember it. Something like 40K, IIRC. Ouch.

And darn, this should be in the two Rainbow comms, not my LJ. *kicks Semagic*

Want to contribute as I have lots of recipes in my head.

Should I do it under my name or what?

Let me know!

*hugs*

Sure, you can submit, just list your name and for the second line, just put, District 6, Ohio. Thanks! :)

(Oh, and check the recipe listing so you're not accidentally listing the same recipe twice. I had to cull my list quite a bit once I did, people got there before I did!)
