Aw, look! A
happy_troll! Go spread the love.
I am way too tired to comment on the drama and angst on the flist. Everyone has a right to have an opinion. People can tell you your opinion sucks. C'est la vie. Keep your friends close and your enemies closer, and never turn your back on either.
I'm sickeningly Midwestern, aren't I?
I got a counterfeit $20 from the ATM this morning. Damn lucky, I was, that the clerk at the gas station didn't call the freaking cops when I gave her the bill. When she told me it was fake, I immediately could tell it was counterfeit - the paper felt funny, you could feel the strip, and there was no frame around Hamilton's picture. There is a watermark, and there are little yellow '20's on the back though. She didn't have a counterfeit pen, and I had another $20, so she gave me the fake back and I left, bemused.
You'd better believe I'll be at the door of my bank tomorrow morning at 9 freaking sharp. I'd planned to give money to my niece's husband to help with gas money for their trip. If I'd given that to them...
I convinced
1anonymous1 to get someone to look at her face and see if she needs to go the emergency room. It sounded like a very serious case of sun poisoning to me. She was having trouble seeing out of her left eye, and her blisters were leaking. *worries* I hope she goes to the emergency room to at least have it looked at. :(

Date: 2004-09-19 09:40 pm (UTC)I do have my ATM receipt, but nothing else to let them know it was them and not me doing the scamming here. And I know that the bank has no legal obligation to either credit my account or replace the bill. Hell, they could have me arrested for possession of counterfeit currency. Fun fun. :|

Date: 2004-09-19 09:55 pm (UTC)While I was talking to her on IM, she said the blisters were leaking, she "couldn't get enough stuff" on her lips, she was thirsty, her face hurt terribly, and she was having a tough time seeing out of her left eye.
She'd never heard of sun poisoning. I finally got her to go and find a RA who could look at it and take her to the emergency room. She's got second-degree burns on her face, and I hope she gets to see a doctor tonight instead of waiting until tomorrow. She won't be able to sleep with her face so hurty.
It's nothing life-threatening, but I'm worried just the same. Owwie. :(
