Went back to work for a couple of hours (well, it was supposed to be just two hours but ended up almost three) yesterday, but cannot go back until I get clearance from my doctor. Dunno if that's going to happen, but those HR problems aren't going to wait until I'm fully healed, darn it.
I'd been kind of bummed out because I'd gotten a few cards from people at work, but no card signed by everyone (we're always good about sending get-well cards and remembering special occasions). But! Yesterday I got a big present from my department!
I got a 'blue box' (our interlibrary transit boxes are blue) containing:
3 crossword puzzle books
An AMC entertainment card from one of my shelvers & his wife
Various cards
Bath and Body Works lotion
Various candies and cookies (biscuits, lol) from the UK
Two bags of sugar-free candy in cute tins
Big emery boards
A Mini Etch-a-Sketch
Two decks of 'magic' playing cards
Two candles
Lots of mini-sized lotions/gels from Crabtree and Evelyn (these people KNOW me!)
A little Boyd's bear from another of my shelvers
Three romance novels from our Homebound Associate, and a note which reads:
"Donna lay fretting in her hospital bed, her fiery red locks tumbling heedless on the pillow. Her ice blue hospital gown fit like a glove - tight in all the right places with a dainty edging of snaps exposing a coy shoulder. Her face, with its dark smoldering eyes and pert, upturned nose, hinted at the anguish she felt inside. Iceberg lettuce and chicken noodle soup again - this was no way to nourish her inner passion. She sighed wearily and turned her face to the wall, longing for a stack of blue boxes to relieve the monotony. Then, over the low twitter of nurses chattering in the hall, came a voice, a voice so rich and sonorous..." LOL!
Two notepads and a packet of thank-you notes
Clear clipboard with storage case
Omar (our cat) got treats, mice, and balls.
I did get out to see Napoleon Dynamite Monday. Jon Heder has the best lips (too bad he's married though) and the hottest dance grooves. :>
And my friend Shannon had her baby!
