Congrats [livejournal.com profile] fearthainn on two years of LJ-ing! Maybe you could tell me how to hide things behind the subject lines?

I went over to Pittsburgh (more specifically, Squirrel Hill) to meet the gals I'll be rooming with at Nimbus 2003 - Renee, Vanessa, and Michelle. All my anxiety evaporated within 30 seconds of meeting them, they're so nice and we hit it right off. Met their friend Holly too, who I'm sure thinks we're all strange for loving HP the way we do. And we all wore Gryffindor red! Bought some Bruegger's bagels, walked around the neighborhood - all in all, more than worth the trip.

Hee! Thanks! Those are LJ cuts, and you do them like this:

[lj-cut] - Replace the square brackets with pointy brackets, like regular HTML. If you want to add text, you add [lj-cut text="text here"] and whatever you write as "text" will show up as your lj cut subject. You can also close lj cut tags by adding [/lj-cut]. (This is what people do when they appear to hide stuff in the middle of a post. :D

Hiding things are through cuts that do make life much easier. Here's a faq page that tells how to do them and how to change the subject line.

Thanks! I've already gotten annoyed with those looong quizzy things and it's only been a month.

Wow!

You were in Squirrel Hill! I know where that is! Am going to be south of Pittsburgh in 2 weeks. Taking munchkin to see munchkin's family where he can go to meet his other grandmother for the first time.

V. nice place, Squirrel Hill. Makes me wish we had great cultural neighborhoods here. I'd love to be able to walk down the street and get whatever I needed.

Good luck with the grandparents, I bet they'll fall in love with Munchkin.

I know - I love neighborhoods like that. Mine comes close, but has too many hair and nail places in the one shopping place. Now if there was a little variety...

There should be no problem with grandma - she thinks her darling son walks on water, so I'm sure she will think munchkin does as well.
