It's come to this...

In all of the hubbub about Dan, Rupert, Emma, Tom et al, I have to hold my head up and admit that I find none of these kids attractive in the least. Oh sure, they're cute enough, but when I think of Harry, Ron, Hermione, or Draco, I never picture any of them. My mental pictures are...well, suffice it to say they are rather older and more mature. ;)
I could care less if Dan is dating Emma or Tom is dating Jamie Waylett. They're just actors. Yep, I'm of the opinion that they - Dan, Emma, Rupert, and Tom - could be ousted in favor of younger actors. Not that they should, mind, but if the producers decided that was what had to be done, it wouldn't bother me too much. They really can't do that to the minor characters, because they'd have to re-introduce them to the audience with a scene, but the main 4, I can see it.
But really, how old were the actors in The Breakfast Club? Well out of high school. Why would it be so unbelievable to have a 16 year old Dan playing a 14 year old Harry?
Either way though, I've been kind of bored with all the media hype and pictures and such. Bring on the pics of Alan Rickman and Gary Oldman!

Date: 2004-06-02 06:13 am (UTC)I don't want the HP movies to look like Grease. Grease was a mondo Hollywood stroke job that blew monkey stuff.
OMG, don't even put Harry near that movie Grease. The thought just brings tears to my eyes.
Grease sucked.
Heh. Musicals suck.

Sighs.
Of course, I am simply heartbroken that Jason Isaacs is not in this movie.
Shall simply play my Peter Pan DVD one more time.
For my little witches, of course.
*Cackles.*
Good to see you are still with us Donna.
Much with the hoping that the health problems get fixed shortly.

Date: 2004-06-02 06:02 am (UTC)Even the version I have in my brain of kid!Harry isn't all that sexy really. Well, to Ginny he is.
I admit that air-brushed-photo!Dan and teevee/moovee-makeup!Dan is pretty good-looking. But, if the kid were among peers, at school, and acting his age, I would bet that I'd be rolling my eyes and dismissing him as an idiotic 14-year-old in no time.
If I were 13 or 14 I would have his poster up in my room. Yep. I surely would. :o)
I'm still loving the Harry that's had to grow up in the environment that JKR provided for him.
I grin wickedly over the grown-up Harry that floats around in my demented imagination.
A grown up Dan Radcliffe? THAT, my dear is a whole different story. That boy is going to ROCK when he gets older. He still has a few years to go, though.
I'd rather see John Cusack, George Clooney, Will Smith, Matthew MacFadyen. Rickman and Oldman are just a bit over the hill for me, I've decided.
How are ya? Long time no see!!

Date: 2004-06-02 07:19 pm (UTC)Grown-up Dan, I'll have to wait and see. The moovie Dan is too pretty for me, ya know? Where are the bumps and bruises, the scars from one too many run-ins with Dudley?
And yeah, teenage boys are loud and smelly most of the time, no airbrushing there. :P

Call it the Dobler Factor. Dan is always going to be Harry to most people, just as John is Lloyd to most of the world. But I'm waiting for Dan to leave puberty before making a judgment on his prettiness. I think you can be arrested for that in most states anyway. ;)

Date: 2004-06-02 08:07 pm (UTC)Matthew M's voice has it all over AR's. I'm not kidding. Have you ever seen the show MI-5/Spooks on A&E? If not, you have to catch it even if it is just to hear Tom Quinn's voice. It's damn sexy. I just melt into a puddle of goo every time I hear it.
I don't think it is running right now, but when it starts up again, you really should catch it.
Dan is a bishie. There are some pretty boys that are teenagers. Not very many. Most teenage boys are not.
I prefer them on paper. Less intrusive that way.
;o)

Date: 2004-06-02 07:19 am (UTC)The trio looks the way I want them to look in my head, and that's all that matters. I have no interest, or lust, for any of the actors.
