I know, I know, everyone is busy and stressed at this time of year, and I'm no different. Think that I get off lucky because I don't have children? Wrong! Without kidlets of my own, I am expected to buy a gift for every child under the age of 21 in my entire family. My older brother and sister are only getting the gifts we draw for (the adults draw names and buy for one other adult instead of everyone); they don't buy for their nieces or nephews. I love buying for the kidlets, but the insinuation that I have lots of disposable income because I have no kidlets of my own annoys me. $40K in school loans, people.

Normally I don't mind, but this year...I guess the spirit of Christmas has passed me by. Honeybunch wants a very expensive jacket (Hurricanes, natch). My uncle sent a very festive email telling us that my Granny is in the beginning stages of Alzheimers (whether or not I believe that will have to wait until I can get to Michigan to see her). I'm just not feeling the love. Little family trifles are getting me down. Bah humbug!

But enough whining! Work = in middle of holiday downtime, meaning things are looking better, but the stacks are full to bursting everywhere. Still skulking about in the stacks tailing my problem employee and documenting, documenting, double verifying, and documenting some more. Shopping = nearly done. Completely done for Christmas except for insanely expensive pressie for Honeybunch. Have to buy birthday gifts for niece and brother - the day before and after Christmas, respectively. WiPs = veeerrry slowly working on ANIP. Have been hit by MAJOR Trio plot bunny based off [livejournal.com profile] calliope14's "The Secret's Out" challenge on Menage_a_Trio (the one I told you about, [livejournal.com profile] hastyent). Like so major that I have to fight the urge to get up and write it in the middle of the night, as I have not one second to write during the day. I have set aside time to work on it tomorrow; I hope I'll be inspired to get it down.

Random squees:

My younger sister happened to drive by David's Bridal and saw The Dress. Lace overlay that doubles as a (very short) train, boat necked dress underneath. We're going Saturday to take a look-see. I wonder if it will be on sale as it's a winter dress! :D

Oh, and my dad found someone to buy the Escort of d00m. The transmission wasn't shifting properly and after changing the fluid, it never shifted into gear again. It was a great welcome-back from Nimbus, that news. But my dad persevered, and I'll have $400 to buy that dress if it's The One. :D

Will not see ROTK until next weekend at the earliest. Boo.

[livejournal.com profile] jane_rucker is teh sexeh. I've seen the pictures. And the tattoos. :D

Hope you all are getting much done this week! *loffs flist* No more gloominess until Christmas actually gets here (or the relatives do), no more messages about dying engines in flight *hugs [livejournal.com profile] seakays* or feeling down in general *hugs [livejournal.com profile] reneec* Or post whatever you want, you know I'll still read it! :-)

I personally think you should get up in the middle of the night and write trio smut.

The more smut this fandom has (trio smut especially is good) the happier we smut fans are. :D

I share the pain of buying for every kid under 21 I know (and being expected to have the money since I don't have my own kids to buy for). Although it's much more fun to buy for kids than grownups, so I don't mind much. Until they reach the teenage years and I'm clueless. Meh.

I hope you get all your stuff done and have time to enjoy your holiday. And no more doom and gloom post from me. I promise.

*hugs*
