I have made major headway!
Nov. 30th, 2003 08:58 pmThis holiday weekend was quite eventful, although nothing much of note happened. The highlights:
Went to Honeybunch's parents' house for Thanksgiving. Played with the niece, who was terrified of HB (I guess because he is so freakin' huge to a not-quite-three-year-old). Was perversely happy with this, as I have heard nary a peep about starting a family of our own.
I will echo some of the sentiments of
folk concerning the fandom. When I started corresponding with Sam and
water_witch in early 2002, I never thought I would create meaningful relationships with the people I met online. Wow. Unless you experience this fandom firsthand, it's hard to understand, I think. My sister thinks I'm nuttier than Chinese chicken salad, but I wouldn't trade you all for the world. Not very eloquent, but hopefully you get the picture. >:D<
Holiday shopping is 90% finished. The secret to good day-after-Thanksgiving shopping is to head for the stores in the early afternoon. Most people have done the early-morning doorbusters and are heading home. Crickets were chirping in K-Mart. The mall was doing an easy business at 4:30 pm, although the cashier could barely talk due to exhaustion.
All the females on my list are getting Wallflowers from Bath and Body Works - they were on sale for $5 each. I had to go to three different shops to get enough, but one must suffer for a good sale! :D
December is also the month for birthdays in my family - there are six birthdays, and two of them are at Christmas - so I won't be purchasing groceries until some time in early June. :-P
Randomly:
archchancellor is rather punchy when he's had a few pints in him.
chickadilly,
shellyk,
allichan,
claireyfairy1,
harpinred,
sunshyndaisies,
redblaze and Jane - were we supposed to chat on Saturday afternoon? 'Cause when I hopped on during my lunch hour, you all weren't there! :-(
I shall receive my birthday pressies this week...Pirates ahoy!
And Christmas cards are forthcoming, for those of you who have sent me their addresses. Want one? Email your address to me at purebloodgryffindor at hotmail.com.

Date: 2003-11-30 09:21 pm (UTC)Or rahter I thought I hit the snooze button. Turns out I hit the off button because I fell asleep for another two hours (had been out late the night before) and when I finally got online I have some offline messages asking where I was. Wah!
I promise to do better next time!
