Sep. 6th, 2003 02:40 pmI must be abnormal.
I don't think my entire mission in life is to take care of everyone else. And yes, I am still in possession of my ovaries. My time is precious to me, and I'm not going to spread myself wafer-thin for the undeserving.
That said, if I have friended you, I am reading your journal entries. You are worthy. Even if I haven't, and you've friended me, I read your journals regularly. You are worthy. I appreciate every one of you! *hugs*
I don't care to make everyone happy. That'll never happen. I do try to be tactful and diplomatic. If that fails, I can at least manage to be civil and straightforward. Even the inexcusably rude deserve that much.
Fandom matters seldom upset me, unless it affects a friend, or someone's real life. I'd rather hear about the personal things. Trolls are amusing, but man, are they getting tired! Those folks need new schtick, really. :-D
I am rarely offended, and almost never offended by people whom I don't know in real life. They don't know me. I do get offended when people make a judgement call about me when the only persona they know is the online one. Or think that my fics reflect my RL personality. We all have a darker side. Mine just happens to be a little darker than the mainstream (and I'm pretty mild, really).
I'm not worried about whether or not I finish all my fics, although I want to have completed them for my own satisfaction. I get reviews that inspire me to keep writing, but the obligation to write is more personal than anything else.
To
lissinthecity and
redblaze, I hope you are both doing okay. *hugs*
