Long story short, I was watching someone else watch the new...est? Sense & Sensibility--Alan Rickman et al--and I said without thinking, "Great cast, good flick, but I just don't think I like Austen." Then I realized what I'd said and I realized that it was true. XB Weird moment. I think everyone expects smart women my age to like Austen, and I tried. I DID. I made it all the way through the books S&S and P&P, and have seen both of them in their multiple screen incarnations... But I have to say, give me trashy Regency-era romance novels any day, or the movie-versions with the kissing please. I'm a cheap hussy like that, I think. No kissing = Bollywood. Have you seen Bride & Prejudice, btw? You should. XP I'm also a sinner in that I like the 2005 just as well as the BBC version (neither is better, as they're very different, but they're both charming and worth watching, imo)...
