Would someone please remind me not to post when I'm mentally exhausted and my eyeballs are gritty with sleep? Then I won't sound like such a paranoid bitch when I post, and can save the energy for more important things, like slacking off at work!
I'm tired. Should have taken Honeybunch's suggestion that I call off work today. Yep, that's right, I should have taken a mental health day to deal with the stress of being in the HP fandom (as well as some hay fever which has been plaguing me recently). But had I stayed home, I would have just spent the time poking through LJs and my groups, getting even more stressed and upset. At work I can intersperse the fandom melodrama with actual, RL concerns. Downside: there is no Y!M here, so I have to rely on hotmail to communicate with people, which is slow.
Now, an important question: Has anyone ever booked a hotel with Hotwire.com? It won't let you know which hotel it is you're registering for until you've paid for the room, and once you've done that, there are no cancellations or refunds allowed. I'm a bit nervous about that, but if anyone's had a good experience with the site, would you let me know? I don't want to end up $150 poorer and 25 miles off-course.

Date: 2003-06-03 08:08 am (UTC)Have you tried Expedia.com? They give you a list of hotels and you can look at them, even go to their websites before purchasing. I have booked a hotel through them and it worked out fine!

Date: 2003-06-03 08:53 pm (UTC)Was off yesterday with fever too, migraine over the weekend, the trolls are spreading something over the web, I just know it *looks around paranoidly* Please try not to let any of this hurt you too bad, just ignore them (I'm not going to answer any yellow bellied anonymous posts anymore)
Are you better?
Hotwire.com sounds like... Peeves, doesn't it? What kind of policy is that? (you don't have to explain, lol, it isn't likely I'll ever have to book via them)
Say, [Unknown site tag] *ahem* is fun ain't it? See you there, on the friend protected posts.
Re:
Date: 2003-06-04 05:16 am (UTC)But, you know, that would take too much time and energy on my part, and I don't think they could make too much trouble on the boards. Even as large as we are, we're still a tight-knit group, and as I tried to explain to this person, while we don't condone censorship, we will fight tooth and nail against prejudice and ignorance.
Let 'em bring it on! We have Sirius' tower (and what a tower it is)!
Re:
Date: 2003-06-04 05:39 pm (UTC)As for Sirius' Tower, *ahem* there'll be two too, Sally and I talked about it, and decided we will both do a happy hour version. Maybe we should specialize in happy hour versions, lol.
