Eric Robert Rudolph has been arrested in western North Carolina!!!!!

For those of you who might have forgotten (or were buried under a rock from 1996-2003), he is suspected - I have to use that word, no matter how much I'd like to decrease the KFC number by one on my own - of being the Olympic Park Bomber, and for three bombings, one at a gay nightclub in Atlanta and at abortion clinics in Burmingham and Atlanta.

He's also a known member of Christian Identity, who are some of the scariest KFCs around, for obvious reasons.

Yes, that part of Carolina (heck, I'd wager most of Carolina) is known for having its share of KFCs. I have no doubt someone's been letting him stay with them.

Heh...I dunno about that as I live in the northwestern part of the state and Cherokee is in the southwestern part of NC, next to GA. Besides, I'm not a native Southerner; I was born in the UK and moved to the US with my family when I was 10. Have lived off an on in NC since I was 16. But yes, there's still a lot of outlaw activity in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mtns. and I believe there's still some stills to the north of us. So it doesn't shock me, really, that Rudolph was sheltered somewhere. I suppose you mean The Colonel when you say 'KFC'?

LOL I suppose! From what I've heard, though, those stills roduce pot rather than moonshine these days. I remember once, whilst I was in uni, I went to a pig-pickin' in Down East North Carolina where someone was passing around some moonshine and I took a swig. God-awfullest stuff I've ever swigged in my life.

Yeah, I've had moonshine. It is gawd-awful, and I'm sure that wacky tobacky is much more lucrative than that swill!
