I'm sure you've all seen this before, or on [livejournal.com profile] ohnotheydidnt earlier today, but:

Professional Photoshopping

If you look in the "Portfolio" section, you can see celebrity retouching.

As per usual, I think the untouched photos are TONS sexier than the 'shopped ones.  OMG Matthew MacFayden *drool*

Saw Grindhouse, loved it madly.  Realized I have a huge fetish for weak chins, and now I can finally say that I have/had a type.  ;-)

I looked at some of those pictures and my conclusion: if someone has to add weight to you in retouching, you're too skinny.

Yes! That's what I was thinking. I giggled when I saw they added weight to Penelope's hips.

I really hate the re-touching people. Argh.

Gah! Too many blondes! ;->

I agree with you -- Matthew McFadyen = dead sexy. Especially when he's lookin' a little rough. *rawr*

This is good. It makes me feel less inadequate.

Bleh. Halle Berry is just as gorgeous without the touch up.

But I did like how they made Penelope's hips bigger. Heh.

Why do they remove freckles!? Those are cute! I hate what they do to people's skin. It looks like plastic.

Although some of the original photographs had really bad lighting. Lazy photographers relying on photoshop and then going to far with it!

I always am interested to see the before and after of heavy photoshop jobs. I was most struck by how shitty a lot of those before pictures were. Not the way the person looked, but how dark the pics were and how poor the lighting was. Geez, I can't believe those would have been taken by professional photographers.

I hate the way a lot of magazine retouching is done. It just doesn't look real at all, especially on that last one with the girl with freckles. She looked about a zillion times better in the original picture. I can't believe they would want to take those out! I've done some retouching before, but at the most I was lightening undereye circles and stuff like that. It was scary some of the stuff that was done, especially to the Kelly Clarkson picture. It makes me so sad that stuff is standard :(
