I am not familiar with Stephen Colbert at all but my husband loves him. I'm assuming he's a conservative because my man is a die-hard Ditto head. If not, then my man has a great sense of humor and is more open-minded than I thought. ;-)

Nope, he's 110% East Coast Liberal. He's also very Catholic, family-oriented and anti-authority. Everything he does on TV is a spoof of O'Reilly, Limbaugh, etc.

I think he's taken irony to a whole new level in pseudo-news coverage.

I don't know, I think some conservatives don't catch the irony. At least that's the impression I got from some of my ultra-con students. But after the WHCD, I don't see how the irony can escape them any longer.
