pottersginny gets a dose of her own medicine!

Am recommending Fast Girls: Teenage Tribes and the Myth of the Slut - looks like pottersginny never left the knee-jerk world of high school.

It's not as dry as some of the recent books about this, more anecdotal, but it gives a good idea where freaks like Darlene come from (other than Pat Robertson's ass).

Since you mentioned Pat Robertson I was curious as to what he thought about interracial dating and marriage, just to see if he interpreted them as Darlene does. This is what it said on his site:

I'm not going to interpret it, but I don't think he's in line with Darlene that mixed children are less intelligent or worthy. I don't know why she points out "Negroes" either because I have the blood of at least 4 nations in me just from my parents, and if we go further back there's a bit of others in there, too. So even though I am "white", I must be a disgrace, too, in Darlene's eyes. I wonder if she'a "pureblood". For someone who "hates hates hates Draco Malfoy" she sure acts like him.

Actually, I was commenting only to the fact that she went to Infinitus' LJ and called her a slut because she enjoys sex. Not because she had any evidence of said 'sluttiness', mind you.

The racism issue has been summed up quite well. Don't need Pat or 'God' for that when common sense will do.

BTW I posted this in her journal anonymnously as I think she blocked me or something since I could not post it under my own name. I wish she'd change her icon. I'm not trying to be mean. It's just not nice to look at. NOTE TO SELF: Gouge out eyes before going back to her journal.

I think somewhat though that common sense is relative, and your common sense won't be understood by her common sense (common sense being thoughts or beliefs agreed upon by a large group). So I pulled out Pat as he was accused of giving birth to her via lower intestinal tract. :) For education/curiosity's sake, really. If what's her name is going to be told off, she can really only be *effectively* told off by people who know the Bible and can quote it right back at her and show her her misinterpretations. Which people did, in her journal. I was really pleased with those responses.
