Jun. 1st, 2005 12:06 amWorked a 12-hour shift today. Every year, the same damn thing happens - people call off on the day after Memorial Day. I had better not be called in to open tomorrow, or heads are gonna roll. /whiner pants
I've been *gasp* writing over the weekend. Not much has come of it, but I'm glad for what little progress has been made on that front.
I've also been spending a lot of time reading Snarry. Mmm, slashy goodness. :>
Lately I've been wondering about genetics and family resemblances. None of my siblings look like our parents (we're blended, so there are a lot of people we could look like, but we just don't) - we look sorta like other relatives. Case in point: I look a lot like my paternal grandmother, and my sister looks like some of our ancestors on my mother's side. But the resemblance is just sort of familial and passing.
I do wonder, however: how would it feel to look so much like another person? One of my coworkers looks exactly like her sister and her mother. Exactly - she dyed her hair light brown so that people wouldn't mistake her for her sister - and people still mix the two of them up. It's creepy, at least to me. Hm.
