What an exciting evening! Went to Granville where the highly-educated Fred Phelps et al are spending their weekend protesting against the godlessness that is the U.S. Constitution.

Best way to irritate nutty Christians? Blare laugh tracks their way and ignore them. One of the most effective tactics I've seen recently, and it really works on a psychological level. It seemed to demoralize them just a little, and the fact that our little group (everyone else in town seemed to be ignoring them completely too) was having a great time socializing instead of paying attention to their ranting took the wind out of their sails.

And when I got home, seakays let me know that she had written several scenes for her upcoming fic, and she's gonna let me see 'em! *squees in anticipation*

That is absolutely the best way. I've participated in a couple of protests myself and it sounds like you went to a good one! I am so glad you decided to go.
