How pathetic is it that I bought something for Honeybunch that I don't mind having at all?

I am justifying this by the fact that I bought Andy Die Hard on DVD. I also bought him The 40 Year Old Virgin, which may be my favorite movie of the year. Typically I hate these kinds of movies, but I like this one:

- Andy (hee!) actually (kind of) has a life, despite the action figures and game-controller chair
- Wardrobe gave them all normal clothes!
- Andy actually has real, palpable emotions that aren't over the top (Thank you, Steve Carell!)
- OH! The BEST part...when Andy and Trish are making out on the couch and her kids walk in, he pulls his shirt over his lap. :D
- The theme from "The Greatest American Hero" <3

I refuse to feel guilty. So there! :D

Ah, but there is a movie to make one feel guilty (but I totally recommend it):

Wow. Middle East politics, CIA and the politics of oil. Double-crossing, double-dealing, and mind-fucking. I am so glad my parents read the newspaper and we watched the news every night during dinner.

If you ever think simpleton thoughts like, "[insert minority/ethnic group name] should just get a job/stop killing each other," I hope you watch this movie with an eye to how the world really works.

The ending was so sad - I thought I would cry from being angry and frustrated (I was) - but everything was tied together through senseless, needless death. Or, sensible foreign policy, if you're an American oil tycoon.

Poor Andy - I know he hates to walk out of the movies with me when my face is all puffy from crying. He's a trooper for going to the movies with me!

*looks at clock* I was at work 12 hours today *thud* and I have to be back in...about 6 hours. Yay. Night all.

May I friend you?

I just read (and left a quickie review) of your Romeo story, and wanted to know a little bit more about the writer of this funny, snarky story.

P&P and Syriana? Totally there, although I went mostly to perv over Mark Strong, the torturer to Clooney's torturee.

Anyway, I love to meet funny, snarky people.

What a dork I am; I read your name on the "Romeo" story, and just jumped to the conclusion that you were the writer. Dur.

Nevertheless, having visited your journal, I still think you're funny and snarky, and would still like to friend.

No problem! I have no skill in writing humor in fic, so getting a fic so full of snarky fun was very nice indeed.

Welcome!

*nods* Mark Strong was pretty hot. As were several of the others - I love 'em tall, dark and handsome! :)
