Our goats here at work got loose last night, ate their observation sheets and ran amuck for a couple of hours. They managed to get the latch of their pen open and cleared the exercise area fence. I can only imagine the fun they had chewing on the trailers and eating all the grass around the barn (the ground near it is almost bare).

*shakes head* Thank goodness this isn't a GLP study - we might have had to collect the 'scraps' as it were and put them together piece by piece...

Thank goodness, no. It wasn't a GLP study (which are conducted under rigorous federal regulations and are audited by the FDA).
I can imagine trying to tell the stuffed shirts what happened to the first week of study records - 'er, the test subjects ate their records...'
We all had a laugh about it, since there was no real harm done and the goats are pretty friendly to humans. It was expected, just not quite so quickly (goats are smart little buggers)!
