Nov. 17th, 2005 12:25 amI don't know why I can never, ever manage to spread my errands over the course of a week. ESPECIALLY when I have to be out of town. Yaargh. My own fault.
I did manage to let it slip that I wouldn't actually be out of town until Friday, but I'm turning my phone OFF. I refuse to come into work. *makes angry face that looks like this >:-O*
Annoyance #Idontknowwhat: When people think you're strange/insane for meeting people you meet on the internet. Really, people, I would rather take the chance on inviting someone on my LJ friends list over for dinner than a coworker. You can look back over a person's journal and at least get a gist of what they're like. A one-night stand is okay, but not meeting someone for dinner? Puh-leeze!
I have a lot of stuff to do tomorrow. :-( Let's hope it doesn't snow on Friday as I'm trying to navigate the mountains between WVa and Pa.
I need driving tunes. What should I burn to pass the time (once I'm finished listening to HBP) on the road?

Date: 2005-11-17 06:29 am (UTC)Some of my most trusted and loyal friends are my internet friends - and I've met several in real life and have phone numbers for quite a few others. Meanwhile, some of my co-workers while not necessarily loathing, I definitely don't want to interact with more than the 8 hours a day I already do.
I suppose that it's the whole "don't talk to strangers" taken to another level that makes people leery about meeting their cyber-buddies in real life. But then you read stories about creepy serial killers who led perfectly normal lives to everyone who knew them. And my rambling point is, you take a chance, no matter what.

Date: 2005-11-17 10:03 pm (UTC)I've been listening to a CD one of my friends burned for me called "Wreck of the Day" by Anna Nalick. It's actually quite good. Johnny Cash makes some good driving music, too :)
Good luck on all that driving! I hope you miss the snow. Post if you can when you get where you're going ;)

Date: 2005-11-18 04:09 am (UTC)As for driving tunes ... I've known for a long time that I need to lay off the Iggy Pop when driving or I turn into a speed demon, but you want something with a decent rhythm that'll not make you fall asleep. Do you like The Lion Sleeps Tonight? ;)
