Okay, a question for the peanut gallery - what is it about House that you all seem to love? Honeybunch and I caught a few minutes of it this week and we were just like O.o. Anyone care to give a quick synopsis? He just came off as just another snarky asshole character.
Is Bones worth watching? True to life (any fellow forensic/anthro people out there)? I hate CSI because techs and detectives aren't busting in and out of the lab and crossing all kinds of job descriptions and such IRL. (I know, it's TV, but it bugs me)
In other news, I am a complete numbnut. I've been whining about my DVD player being broken when I have a DVD player on my PC. -.- Almost as good as the time Andy thought we had TiVo.
Watched Mind of Mencia tonight. If you get the chance, watch it. Totally hilarious.
Right now I'm watching I Am My Own Twin, which is really freaking me out. How can one not share DNA with their mother? Yet they're analyzing two women whose DNA doesn't match their children's.
I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow morning (because they're holding my H+ blocker scrip hostage, grr) and my head is killing me from trying to get my blood sugar into the normal range. Arrgh.
ETA: You all know I'm all a-squee about the GoF trailer. Eee, hug! I might even be able to get Andy to Pittsburgh for the premiere. Whee! :D I don't think I could express my excitement quite properly at this moment...*joy*

Date: 2005-09-15 12:33 pm (UTC)And I do like Bones. But then again, I love CSI, so there ya go. Of course, David Boreanaz is in Bones, so that's a plus as far as I'm concerned.

Date: 2005-09-16 12:52 am (UTC)I have been a huge fan of "House" since the first episode. What is it that I love? It's that whatever he thinks pops out of his mouth and he doesn't care. It's that he's a doctor, but people don't interest him, diseases do. It's that everything is a puzzle to him and he loves figuring out what make people tick. It's that even though he's an asshole, he will do pretty much anything to cure someone. The dialogue is fantastic and witty and his relationships with his co-workers are very entertaining. And every once in a while, they let us see a glimpse of tortured soul in him, and Hugh Lauire portrays it just incredibly.
I also checked out "Bones" and though I didn't enjoy it as much as when I first saw "House," it does have potential. There was one conversation (not spoilery here), where the characters were drifting between discussing a book and real life, and it was funny because of how easily people can often switch in conversation between several topics and keep them all straight. They don't often show stuff like that in TV. I'm a big fan of David Boreanaz, so I liked him in it and was pleased to see his performance. One of the quirkiest bits was that whenever someone used a pop culture reference in front of Bones (aka Dr. Brennan), she'd say, "I don't know what that means." I don't know if it's true to life or not, but it has potential.
Hope your doctor's appointment goes well!

I am certainly going to try and catch Bones though, because mmm, David Boreanaz! :P
Appointment went well - got yelled at for my glucose levels but I got my scrip and that's all I cared about!
