*chants* I will not look at spoilers, I will not look at spoilers...I will not visit
camillabloom's journal and peek at spoilers...
I will read smutty fanfic, however, until my eyes go dry. :>
Went to see drum/brass competition with
hastyent tonight. Scads of young men dressed in tight fitted uniforms? You better believe I was all over that. Too bad I didn't bring binoculars. I'm a dirty old woman and I'm not even 30 yet.
Before the competition we went to Thai Orchid, and the pad thai was almost as good as the eye candy that followed. :-9
This weekend is going to suuuuuuck. I work Friday until 6:15. Thought I would have all day Saturday to read, but no. I am going out to lunch with Honeybunch (the poor guy hasn't seen hide or hair of me for more than a week now), then I have to go into work from 4-6. Two hours that are going to be absolute HELL. I truly hope that tech services doesn't process our HBP books for distribution until Monday.
And I want to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. And visit with Renee (twice in a week!). Pooh. At this point, getting through the book will be meeting the goal.
Eee. Can't wait. :D

Date: 2005-07-14 05:48 am (UTC)I want to see Charlie too. From what I understand Charlie is a tad creepier than previously cute versions? A little more Dahlish? I really should pick up the book - I've never read it. So many books and so very little time.
You can't attain dirty old woman status until you are over 30. Sorry. I'm a dirty old woman. When I look at young boys ... Um, I usually find them icky. I just don't go for it. They really are sorta gross. Even the 20-somethings are starting to look immature to me now. *baleful look*
You've made me hungry for Thai food now. All I have a stupid BBQ chips. Yuck.

Date: 2005-07-15 02:35 am (UTC)I've heard "less dark" and "more creepy", so I don't know what to think about Charlie. Guess I'll find out when I see it. I thought the book was great, the Gene Wilder movie extremely dark and even sinister at times. More Dahlish would be great. It's Johnny Depp and Tim Burton, what could go wrong?

Date: 2005-07-15 12:24 pm (UTC)When I was in my mid-20s I went to a posh club at a resort community outside of NYC and was told by some yuppie scum-bag twerp that I was too old to be there. So, I suppose it's all relative, isn't it? o_O
I didn't think that the Gene Wilder movie was dark or sinister at all. Maybe I need to watch it again. I haven't seen it in a LONG time.
Depp and Burton? Nope. Can't go wrong. Both of them are just amazing.
I've got some movies for you to check out once HBP has calmed down just a bit, okay? I think you will really like them.

Date: 2005-07-14 12:03 pm (UTC)You could have *my* schedule: work 4PM-1AM Friday night for HP event. Sleep. Maybe do laundry. Work 2-11:30 Saturday. Work 1-9 Sunday.
I have Monday and Tuesday off. I hope to be able to read HBP on those days, but I'm sure Real Life will find something else for me to do....

Date: 2005-07-15 02:43 am (UTC)We're taking bets as to how many people show up Saturday wondering where all our copies of HBP are (right now, we're the only ones with books; our sister library hasn't gotten their copies yet, and the reserve list is almost 3000 people long).
I am avoiding BN and going to Kroger for the book, and I'll save 40% in the process.

Date: 2005-07-15 01:31 pm (UTC)Yeah, I was lookin' at your schedule going "I want that schedule!"
3000 people! Jeebus. I think I'd rather get the book at my local supermarket if I could, but then what would that say about my company pride? ;->
