After putting Peep outside for his mommy to come back (I know, I know, I even knew taking him in was a bad idea), we actually had a movie night, Andy and I.
Alfie kinda blew big chunks, but hey, Jude Law. :-9 Alfie deserved everything he got, really. Even the health scare. I really liked the Michael Caine version better. But, Jude Law!
I was really surprised at how deep Spanglish got - there was UST and angst and even funny at times. Cloris Leachman is a goddess among actresses. Poor Andy felt bad about my insistance that a dad/husband that perfect didn't exist - I think he likes to think of himself as a really sensitive guy, which he is most of the time. But there isn't a man on the planet that is really able to a) give a bear hug to his 13-year-old daughter and b) get one in return. :D We shall be making the BLT with Egg sandwich quite often, I think.
Andy went to bed before this one, but he's gonna have to watch this. Having heard
madlorivoldmort's recommendation, I was really loathe to watch it. Typically I hate most things other folks recommend.
But not this. There really isn't much to say about it other than, see it. It's just real and cool and man it must suck to be a dwarf/short person. Not size-wise, just the being different. People spilling their guts to you, asking you completely inane and personal questions, that would drive anyone to complete anti-social behavior.
Sorry I've been so damn boring lately, but life has been rather boring of late. Other than hanging out with
hastyent last weekend, things have been blah. Having been writing more lately, which is good.
So, what's up with you all?

Date: 2005-05-02 12:03 pm (UTC)My alter-ego has been working furiously on a smutfic that's been percolating in her brain for a solid year. She finally wrote about 4,500 words of it since Thursday but it's not done. But she might wait to the ending until her beta-readers tell her that the first 4,500 words don't suck ;)
And I finally friended you. Which is, like, long overdue :D

Date: 2005-05-12 02:26 am (UTC)I'll have this on my wish list asap, because it just gets better every time I watch it.
And I'll take your advice so long as you never recommend Kathy Reichs, Patricia Cornwell or CSI. :P
