What did the footballer do? For one glorious second I thought he was suspended because he didn't meet academic standards. Then I remembered where we live. Silly me. So, I reread the story to see that they weren't tellin'. It must be pretty bad though.

I wouldn't worry too much about the HP book. Even if she does cave to the fandom, does it really matter? I think the fandom had unrealistic expectations of her to begin with.

I just read a book that had plot holes three miles wide and the author is a pretty respected crime writer. He regularly wins awards for his writing. Sometimes I think that we find things in her writing because we examine it too closely. More than we do other people's.

She isn't going to be like Ann Rice because JKR has a beginning and an end in sight. Ann Rice began writing her books in the early '70s and just now completed the Chronicles. Rice had no idea where they were going to take her. Plus, Rice could only be a bigger wanker by actually living on Journal Fen.

But to be honest the first three were my favorites and they only had a year between them. Also, I heard HBP was, in size, more comprable to book three.
