Not so much with the manners, not really. It's been a slow progression - my mother was the first and only (so far) in her generation to have left the holler and earn something like the American Dream. The rest (the other 6 of her sibs) like to lie about and complain about the sorry state of their lives. Because, you know, that changes things. :P
