Now that some folks on my friends list (msscribe, clarabella21, and infinitus to name a few) have taken to posting personal avatars, I'm feeling a bit of pressure to do the same. Am considering, but I'm waffling for a few reasons:

1. I don't have a picture that I really want to put up. Maybe a kiddie picture. I was always a weird kid (yes, quite unbelievable, but true).

2. I'm not sure that I want people to have a vision of me as the author of my fics. Incongruous to say the least - I look like an overgrown cherub. My mind and my face are mismatched (and a good thing, really, has gotten me out of a lot of scrapes)!

3. I am an advisor for a youth group (more of a sorority for teenaged girls) and while I know that most of the girls are not tubing around the fandom, the other adults may be, and some of them would love nothing more than to push me out of the organization (I'm a bit of a rebel anyway) for being a bad example. And while it is my life, I do have to consider what part of my life I am presenting to young women.

So, any opinions?

I vote for a partial pic. Second best would be kiddie pic. Otherwise you will continue to be objectified in my lurid fangirl imagination.

I vote for a kiddie pic as well, or a mysterious pic of you with your hair covering your face. Or just a photo of your chin :P. Or you could just post a friends only entry of yourself. But then some of us would miss out on seeing you. *shurgs*

You could do something like mine. Take a photo, crop it, and then apply funky filtering. :D
