Dec. 30th, 2003 10:40 pmMy year is going to go out very nicely, I think. This week has nearly made up for all the shit of the past few months.
Saw ROTK this weekend. It was...spectacular.
hastyent asked me what I thought, but I can't do much analysis as I've not read the books. She gave me good advice (read Two Towers first, then Return of the King, and Fellowship of the Ring last) so I'll make another attempt. But, the movie! I don't think I stopped crying after Boromir left to meet the Orcs for the second time. And yes, I respected the pretty, oh yes I did. :D (I did not, however, respect the parents who brought along their 2-year-old for a three and a half hour movie *stabs*)
I have also been AFK, shopping. Not just shopping, but shopping because my pants are too big!!!! :D I have, since May, lost a grand total of 18 pounds. Fifteen of that went during my spinning class (and some of it due to the increased physical demands of my current job). I'm now down to the size I was in high school, two pant sizes from a year ago. I'm going in for an evaluation tomorrow at the gym. My goal is to get out of plus sizes and wear normal people clothes for the first time in my life.
Yes, my friends, the last couple of weeks have been very, very good to me. We're getting a raise at work, despite the continued budget crunch for libraries, and a 2% cost-of-living increase. More money in the new year! That's never a bad thing.
And since I rarely make resolutions, I decided this would be the year to have one or two:
1. Get my daily intake of calcium.
2. Get married.
Both doable, yes? Here's to 2004 being a fair sight better than 2003 for everyone! *throws confetti*
