When did I miss the memo on this shit?!?

Fuck those Republican bastards. Most of the white-collar people in this country are nose-to-the-grindstone, despite the anecdotal evidence. And they are spending more and more time at work, away from their families.

The people here are ever-so-ready to have 40 hour weeks, extra money be damned.

FUCK.YOU.BILL.FRIST.

It'd be fine if people would be limited to only working a 40-hour week, but that's not the case.

This would mean that employers could have you working 60 hours a week if they could, and not have to pay time-and-a-half for non-exempt employees. >:-O Slave labor, essentially.

All in all we're just another brick in the wall.

Almost all the companies I've worked for lately don't even pay overtime. Instead, you get comp time. It's against their policy to pay you overtime. Not sure that's legal, but there it is.

See, comp time to me is okay, so long as the forty-hour work week is in place. This kind of bill would give employers leeway to work people on regular 12-hour a day shifts, or 60 hour weeks, with no additional compensation for their time.

Bush - he's such a compassionate fucking conservative.
