You can cry in the night if it helps

We saw the veterinary oncologist today, had an OMG!long talk about everything one could ever possibly want to know about canine cancer, but the long story short: we've decided not to pursue radiation or chemo or vaccination.
His lungs are clear, which is one saving grace. Severe metastasis has not happened yet.
The median survival rate with all available measures is no greater than 18 months, and the median for the recommended treatment is only 8 months. With aggressive treatment comes sick doggie, and neither I nor Mr. K. are willing to put Bernie through that, only to lose him anyway.
Best to let him live out his life as happy and healthily as possible, then let him go when he's ready.
--It might actually be above freezing for my 5K on Sunday. *ded*
--I scored a mini One Touch glucose monitor that I've been wanting for....wait for it...$2.14, on clearance at Wal-Mart. Sweet!
--Now, to pay the $100 for the test strips.
--And to get new tires for the car.
--Also pay the rest of the vet bill incurred today.
--Am looking at condos in the Clintonville area that are less than HALF of what they were 18 months ago, that I can afford after August. Life is looking up, my friends. :-)
