I have a question for you all! Please to be answering, 'cos I want to think about ANY music aside from Christmas carols.

I'm thinking about the intros to songs...when you hear just the first few notes of a song and go, "oh, yeah!" and you go to your [insert emotion] place.

Tonight, when "Born to Run" came up, my brain relaxed, calmed, and went to a whole different vibe from the first chord.

How about you? Can you think of songs that make you stop, make you dance, make you sing, make you drop everything to sit and reminisce?

"Reptile" by The Church
"Can't Hardly Wait" by The Replacements
"There's No Other Way" by Blur
"Bigmouth Strikes Again" by The Smiths
"Mudshovel" by Staind
"Bizarre Love Triangle" by New Order
"Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough" by Michael Jackson
"A Little Respect" by Erasure
"Machinehead" by Bush
"Sir Psycho Sexy" by RHCP

None of the above are songs I would put into my all-time Top 10, but they can change my brain stem's chemicals in one measure.

So, what about you?

"Roll To Me" by Del Amitri--it came on not an hour ago while I was at dinner, and I was practically bouncing in my seat.

"Wonderwall" by Oasis.

"I Don't Want to Live on the Moon" by Ernie of Sesame Street.

"Full of Grace" by Sarah Mclachlan. Can't not think of Buffy.

"This Charming Man" by the Smiths (or Death Cab for Cutie).

"Bizarre Love Triangle" by New Order - I see you have that one. I love that song. I lived it. I can taste the bitter sweet when I hear one bar of it.

"Dear God" by XTC used to make me nostalgic and sad on one note. In the last few years it starts and makes me very angry.

Lately, "Saturday Night's Alright for Fightin'," is something that reallyreallyalot makes me want to groove.

"Across the Universe," especially Fiona Apple's version from the Pleasantville soundtrack.

All of Ok Go's self titled album, most notably "You're So Damn Hot," "Get Over It," and "Bye Bye Baby." Great driving/prancing around songs.

"Coconut Telegraph" by Jimmy Buffet!

Lesley Gore's "Judy's Turn to Cry."

Michael and Janet's "Scream." (Aaaaaaaaa-gh!)

God, your icon brings one to mind.

"Coffee and TV" by Blur just makes me think of that little milk box, which brings happiness.

"Suckerpunch" by Bowling For Soup reminds me of an old friend.

"I Am A Passenger" by Iggy Pop reminds me of being with my friend Corrine.

"Wild Horses" by the Rolling Stones makes me teary eyed.

"Alive With The Glory Of Love" by Say Anything... makes me cry at the end. Don't ask me why, I can't explain it.

The entirety of Brand New's album Deja Entendu makes me nostalgic of my first car.

"Dig" by Incubus makes me think of my boyfriend. That and "Is This Love?" by Bob Marley.
