May. 9th, 2003 12:01 pmThings I should just get used to about my body:
1. I will never have sculpted upper arms, no matter how many weights I lift. It's just never gonna happen - I take after my mother.
2. Conversely, I will never have lean legs because even working out for a month has grown them to monstrous proportions. At least I don't have to worry about cellulite! :D
3. I covet
infinitus' boobies. I must not have done enough rounds of, 'we must! we must! we must increase our bust!' growing up. I did have the biggest rack in 4th grade though. *sigh* They just never got any bigger.
4. Abdominal crunches aren't so bad. I'll never be an average weight, so might as well have the strength to suck it in.
5. Unless I let my gray grow out, I should get used to the fact that I appear to look 10 years younger than I am. I was carded for lottery tickets again last Sunday (buying them as a surprise for my younger sister's 25th birthday). Ahem. It sounds like a compliment, but it gets irritating (and please, telling me how lucky I am is just patronizing. I've lost job opportunities because of this face, thankyouverymuch.)
Things I'm happy about:
1. I really don't stress all that much about my weight; I figure if I'm working out and trying to manage my diabetes well, I'm doing my job. I did try to put my name in for bariatric surgery ('cause, you know, insurance doesn't pay for liposuction) but didn't even come close to the qualifying BMI (6 ticks and at least 75# away from qualification - damn). Guess I'll have to stick with being me for a while longer.
2. I don't have a complex about the way I look. Have been thankful lately that my parents varied the gene pool a bit when they got together. Hate being called cute, though, but it's a sight better than fugly.
3. I've booked my flight to Orlando for Nimbus! All my planning for this trip has gone way, way too smoothly. I'll probably forget to pack underwear.
4.
alexmalfoy has inspired me to go shoe shopping! :D Always a sure way to lift my spirits.
5. It's Friday and I can actually shop for shoes online at work and generally waste time until 4:30. Joy, joy! I nearly stayed home today as the storms were so bad and traffic in town was terrible, but why stay home and goof off when you can go to work and get paid to shop for shoes. It's a win-win situation - they have my warm body, I have their warm T1 line.
