Actually, as far as (some, perhaps not all) airlines are concerned, if you're paying adult fare, you are considered an adult. We had the same issue here in Canada, where a 15 yr. old flew to Jamaica from Toronto to see her boyfriend, and her parents thought she was at Girl Guide Camp!
