Hang me out to dry

I've had lots of happy news over the past couple of days in the world of entertainment!

First, Blur is going to reunite to record for a new record.  Which we heard was going to happen in 2006, but whatever.  Possible new Blur = happy Donna.

The Emmy's Jon, Stephen and Steve stealing Ricky Gervais' Emmy last night = ahdjhfdosafghyghaaaah so awesome.

Pre-ordering even though I have zero cash to spare right now from Amazon will net me: The Best of the Colbert Report, I Am America (And So Can You)!, Lost: Season Three (I know, I've not gotten through Season 2, but!  LOST!), and My So-Called Life: The Complete Series.  W00t.

I didn't get much sleep last night after watching Unfaithful.  Don't get me wrong, holy god is Diane Lane hot and Olivier Martinez is teh sexy, but the plot, climax, and denouement really made me anxious/upset.  I'm losing my edge, clearly.

Friday is the release of Eastern Promises, the new Viggo Mortensen/Naomi Watts thriller.  Russian mafia!  Murder!  Secrets!  Viggo!  I'm spent.  :-P

And yay!  Jim Broadbent has been cast as Slughorn for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

In REAL LIFE stuff, my carotid arteries are...spasming...pulling...cramping... they're doing something funny!  It's not painful, but it's strange, vaguely uncomfortable, and disconcerting.  Eep.

Kudos for reading this far, hope you all have a great week.

That picture is awesome *g* I'm bummed the Emmys don't screen on free TV over here like they do in Oz.

I hope your arteries stop making you uncomfortable *hugs*

Oh, dude, watch Season 2 of Lost before January so we can descend into the meta-nonsense together, kthanx. It's just too weird now. Weird and beautiful like Twin Peaks underneath. Naveen Andrews makes me squirm with delight. :)

Did someone say Russian Mafia? Hmmm - Must check out new Viggo.

Broadbent looks perfect for the role of Slughorn, doesn't he?

Why are your arteries dancing? @_@

That would be season two and three of Lost...

Was Unfaithful at all unsatisfying for you? I remember being like, "Ba-wut?" when I watched it a few years ago and it ended so soon. Maybe there wasn't enough character development? Maybe I just wanted to look at Olivier a little longer?

Catching up on comments

I dunno, I don't necessarily think it was the characters that were undeveloped, but their relationship. Were they even a little happy? Did they truly love each other? Was Diane Lane's character unhappy with her life or just looking for a thrill?

The lack of those elements made the ending seem...I don't know...too contrived. Like there was a big blank space between what you saw on screen and what the 'reality' was.

Surely, there could have been more Olivier.

That picture made me laugh for way to long.

I'm hoping to get to Eastern Promises on Friday night for all of your mentioned reasons. Can't go wrong with Viggo and the mafia. :P
