Woo birthday loot! :D

Had early birthday party at my sister's house today. I'm so lucky to have a family that is generally nice. Well, there are evil elements like my older sister, the Queen Bitch, but all in all, I don't dread family functions.

So, had v. yummy food, got money from Dad, a framed photo of the Eiffel Tower and a baking sheet from my sister and her hubby. Ate cake. Much feline love given and received - Mal has four cats, including Ray-Ray, her "tard kitty" (who took head trauma from a gamecock when he was a kitten) and Pedro, the stray Jay found at Taco Bell a week ago.

Had good news - my youngest older brother is interviewing with the CIA. He's the Special Forces guy in the movies who you never notice until he comes from nowhere to kill the bad guy. He can kill people with his bare hands. Really. But he can still come home and give his wife a kiss, call his kids, and remember that his little sister doesn't like capers. He's got a code of honor and ethics a mile wide and he doesn't take kindly to those on the other side. You'd never know it to look at him, he's that laid-back on the surface. I'm sure that when he was making farm trailers for a living, it was sucking his soul in a way that sleeping in the jungle never did. There have been times when he couldn't get hired in the civilian sector - people are more than a little nervous at such a personable, easy-going guy with a resume that reads like a Bruce Willis movie. I'm really hoping that he gets this job; he needs this kind of purpose, if one could call it that. He's only happy when it rains, too.

But where I obviously couldn't handle the pressure of being five steps removed, he lives to be eye-to-eye with his target. :)

I have been writing sporadically, but with no real progress made on any front. Hey, do you want to

1. What would you change about your own fic if you could go back?

I would have expanded my Hermione/Bill revenge scene in "The Taking of Hermione," but I can't be arsed to do it now.

2. What ship besides your own do you enjoy reading?

I like lots of pairings in general, but I think I enjoy reading a good Harry/Tonks fic from time to time.

3. What's your guilty pleasure fic reading?

Harry/Snape. It's all about power and control.

4. What's the best (HP) fic you read recently?

A Schism in the Center by Liza Lovegood

5. Which author are you waiting with bated breath for an update from?
