Yeah!

Cross-posted from the other blogs:

I got my test results!  I don't think 90% of the population can beat

Hemoglobin A1c = 6.7% (non-diabetic is ~6.0%)
Total Cholesterol = 134 (average for US adults is 203; goal is <200)
Triglycerides = 66 (goal is under 150)
HDL (good) Cholesterol = 62 (higher than 60 is protective against heart disease)
LDL (bad) Cholesterol = 59 (goal is <100)

Those were non-fasting numbers, too.  Yay for good genes and lots of hard work!

The doctor wrote "Perfect" on the cholesterol results, and he wants that A1c down to 6%.  I can live with that.

I bought a heart -rate monitor, which has been working out pretty well.  I burned 1668 calories on Monday night and 1050 tonight.  It hasn't tempted me to cheat (which I was worried about), and I love having an accurate way to check my workouts.  We'll see how it works in the water on Saturday.

To quote a well-known cartoon character, "you can achieve your goals, I'm living proof.  Beefcake...BEEFCAAAAKE!!!"
