quidditchgrrl: (Normal people scare me.)

Grade on a curve and you'll observe I'm right below the horizon

On Monday, Andy called me to mention that he'd met Kevin Kurgis (he's a local accident/injury lawyer who runs ads here in town).  We laughed about it, and I said, "I hope that doesn't mean anything!"

Oh, sweet irony.  Andy called me Friday afternoon - he'd been broadsided on one of his runs.  Luckily, he saw the car coming and was able to turn away from the impact enough that it was more of a sideswipe than a t-boning.  (Andy is an excellent driver with quick reflexes, thank goodness - he's never been in an accident that was his fault.)  Thankfully, a) this accident wasn't his fault either and b) no one was hurt.  However, the passenger door is bent and everything from the door handle to the headlight is crumpled or busted.  The side airbag deployed; that alone is enough to total out the car, and the 140K on the odometer pretty much seals its fate.

One step forward, two steps back, eh?  *headdesk*

Physical therapy is going well.  So well, in fact, that the PT says he'll probably cut me off early.  That's good, yet too bad - that'll be several 45-minute sessions less of my handsome therapist!

Went over to [livejournal.com profile] rlanto and [livejournal.com profile] generalmanda's house today for Renee's birthday party.  Let me tell ya, if'n you don't already know - Renee is a seriously good cook.  :-9  And [livejournal.com profile] ladybug_rjc made this chili-mint chutney that was good enough to eat with a spoon.  I got some items, both naughty and nice, too.  ;-)

For the first time in a long time, the ride home wasn't marred by life-threatening weather conditions.  Score!

Does anyone want a pile of gently-used clothes?  They're all in the size 18 range, from Lane Bryant or Lazarus/Macy's/JC Penney.  I have a khaki suit jacket and skirt, some very nice work pants, some dressy pants, casual skirts, etc.  I will certainly mail them to you, or post pics for browsing.

I really have had to face facts, I've lost too much weight to make another attempt to wear these things, so they have to go.  Else I try to wear them and look like a sack of potatoes.

Good thing Target had some nice shorts on sale today - I had to resupply my entire wardrobe (then double-back for 14s as I'd automatically bought 16s out of habit).

My Adidas track pants, though - I can't quite bring myself to part with them yet.  I had to give up my lined chem lab Adidas pants with the sulfuric acid holes 'cause even up to the armpits, they were just too big to wear.

Not sure when I got so attached to my clothing, but I agonize over every piece that I have to get rid of before it wears out.  I need to replace every bra and most of my underoos, but have only managed two sets so far.

Gar, I should probably go through and get rid of all my LB 14/16 button-up shirts, too.  Boo, I love those things.  :-\

I feel like I'm whining, but I'm finding buying new and smaller just as disheartening as new and bigger.  Sigh.  Long story, but I'm sure some of you understand what I mean.

Hope you all are having great weekends!

Okay, I'm ready to send you some clothes, if you're still interested!

I know you're kind of couch surfing right now, so let me know what you'd like to me to do. :)
